Le Baiser de L'Alouette captures a moment in the life of a ten year old boy, who shares time between his divorced parents. “Andre” to his mother, and “Arjuna” to his father, his parents are of different religions, Hare Krishna and Catholic. He lives with his mother, and sees his father only sometimes. His father, Michel, has just bought a house, and is ready to fight for more custody, while his mother doesn't want to “give him up”. She has a new boyfriend, who she is ready to move in with, and who she desperately wants Arjuna to like. Arjuna is torn between two parents, religions, and identities, and has to make a choice that will shape his adolescence.
